Let’s be honest—pets run the show. They steal our snacks, hog our beds, and still somehow convince us they’re doing us a favor. And today? It’s their day.
April 11 is National Pet Day.
It’s the perfect excuse to spoil your pet silly. Not that we needed one, right?
Whether you’ve got a dog who thinks he’s royalty or a cat who knows she is, today is all about them. Even your pet turtle who gives you the side-eye when you forget to feed him.
So, how do we celebrate?
• Give them their favorite treat
• Take them on a new adventure
• Buy a ridiculous outfit they’ll hate (but you’ll love)
• Snap a photo and post it with #NationalPetDay
• Donate to a local shelter in their honor
No pet? No problem. This is also a great day to volunteer or adopt. There are tons of amazing animals waiting for their forever couch to nap on.
Let’s face it—life’s just better with pets.
They make us laugh, cry, and question our own sanity. And in return, we give them belly rubs and a place in our hearts.
So go ahead. Celebrate big. Hug your pet a little tighter today. And maybe—just maybe—let them win the battle for bed space tonight.
They’ve earned it.
